Fishing rod and reel help?
i recently purchased an ugly stick and a new spinning reel. The ugly stick has some sort of index finger brace on it that sticks up. Is this rod only made for spincast reels? When i put on my reel i know the sinning reel goes on the bottom but the finger brace is on top.
What the guy above said is true. If it’s a rod for a bait reel, the guides are all pretty small. If it’s for a spinning reel, then the guide size goes from really big at the bottom to small at the top.
Also rods for bait reels have a small protrusion on the handle, I think that this might be what you’re talking about. It might not work too well with a spinning reel.
